As a bit of a preface for those not fully aware: In the finfin game, there are six locations you can go to; the last of which, and for the longest time the most elusive, is the Nest. As one may expect from the name, it's a place where Finfin and his lover Finnina nest, and on occasion, raise a child finfin, nicknamed "Finfin Junior". For over 20 years, this location was elusive to western fans. It only released in China and in Japan, and literally nowhere else, so there was quite the language barrier for information related to the Nest—nevermind the "old as heck video game" barrier!
Fortunately, this all changed in 2023, with the advent of Finfin on QEMU. Seriously, cannot thank the team from that project enough for what they did. With it, came a deluge of new discoveries related to both the Nest itself, but also Junior. What this page currently focuses on is one specific aspect of Junior; their color!
Over on Emge's finfin website (severe recommendation, by the way), it was mentioned that Junior was capable of being a different color depending on what Finfin's own color was at a full moon. However, aside from a brief description of how to obtain one, the four images—one of every color—were the only photos of a multicolored Junior anywhere... At all. On the entire internet! This truly was a mystery for the ages, as far as the web was concerned. We decided enough was enough. We had to give the internet more FinFin Junior, somehow. So what did we do?
...We painstakingly raised 4 Juniors across 4 months, one of each of the unique colors, and documented our time together and took a bunch of screenshots. To be fair, most of that was Tori. Can't say I blame her, personally, since I inevitably got quite attached too. Here are the fruits of our labor, in the form of a gallery of many, many images of these various Juniors we've risen. And if we ever get even more images of Junior, you can be assured we'll be putting them in here!
